THE IMPACT OF HOLINESS ON CHURCH GROWTH
Abstract
This study is to examine the impact of holiness on Church growth, using Assemblies of God Church Ikwerre District as a case study. The study also tries to compare the level of holiness from the early apostles and in today’s Christianity. Both primary and secondary data was used for the purpose of the study with a sample size of 160 respondents; the study revealed that some of these unholy behaviours are specifically observed in recent astronomic proliferation of churches; materialism and commercial ministry; declining spiritual commitment; fraud and criminality; rivalry and confusion from un-repented youths and church leaders. The findings also indicated several manifestations of moral decadence in spite of Church growth and its causal factors. The study concludes that Christians should not trifle with sin under any pretense; least of all on the plea that he is not “under the Law.” Some recommendations were made to help the Christians live a holy and acceptable standard while on earth.
