DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ROAD EMERGENCY MOBILE APP
ABSTRACT
The research was set to design and implement a road emergency mobile application that is capable of tracking and reporting any unexpected emergency that happens in our roads. It is worthy to note that accidents can happen at any time and is by definition, unexpected. Despite several measures taken by government to reduce fatal road accidents, so many people still lose their lives due to road accidents. The more important aspect of this project is how to prevent and how to respond when such happen. Therefore this project aims at designing a road emergency application system that can report road accidents in real time. Also, to develop a database that can be revisited for further analysis for the purpose of accident prevention and the broader data analysis. Road accidents account for about 10 percent of deaths in Nigeria and is not good enough considering that more developed countries have road accident death rates of less than one percent. One of the useful tools of preventing this deaths is accurate and timely reporting. This project has provided some form of that. We have developed a system to make that reporting easier and timely. This project have employed web application tools that can perform these tasks.
