ABSTRACT
The research on management information system was carried out in Champion Breweries Limited, Uyo to investigate the impact of management information system on the attainment of organizational goals. The population of this study comprises the management staff of the organization; three research questions and two hypotheses were formulated. A 17 item structured questionnaire was developed, validated and tested for reliability using test-restart technique. The obtained data from the questionnaire was analyzed using simple percentage for personal demographic data while chi-square was used to test the hypothesis with 0.05 level of significance. From the analyzed data, it was found out that attainment of organizational goals. Sequel to the findings, it was recommended that management should recognize a two information flow in an organization for effective decision making.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Based on the modern society and the ongoing globalization of the world, individuals and organization make adoptive decisions continually in order to remain in a dynamic equilibrium with their environment. This implies that to manage effectively and efficiently, information flow is essential for the decision making process.
To improve the quality of life in our society as it is in the case of developed nations of the world, it is the task of management to develop and implement meaningful information decision system to co-ordinate and maintain a dynamic social economic equilibrium.
According to Loudon and Kenneth (2009), management information system gives the business decisions in order to facilitate effective management within an organization. Therefore, the various decisions relating to hiring, training, developing, recruitment of staff, marketing, resources allocation and selection of employees have to be made by the top management. Hence, as evaluation of organizations management information system in a company is imperative. This is necessary because companies in Nigeria need to meet the challenges of consolidation and competitive within and outside the country. The main objective of this study system on the attainment of organization goals: A case study of Champion Breweries Ltd-Uyo.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Management of Champion Breweries Ltd-Uyo must have adequate information in order to plan and control the activities of the company with the growing capacity and flexibility of the modern computers, and the availability of information from other sources.
It is increasingly witnessed in this 21st century that, modern corporations rely on computerized information systems to process financial accounts, manage human resources and provide basic services to its citizens. Individuals also study, shops, bank and invest using computers. Business firms rely on information systems to manage their operations come compete in the marketplace, supply services and augment personal lives-Joshua, (2011).
The problem however is how to provide the proper kind of and quality of information system to each manager; and to determine the capabilities information system can contributes to the organization.
Therefore, this research seeks to know if management information system affects the attainment of goals in the organization.
1.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The main objective of this study is the clearly explain management information system and its impact on attainment of organization goals.
To achieve the above stated objectives, the research will focus it attention on the following areas.
1. To examine the relationship between management information system and attainment of goal in the organization.
2. To determine if management information system helps in decision-making process in the organization.
3. To examine the capabilities management information system can contribute to the organization.
4. To suggest ways in which management information system can help in the attainment of goal in the organization.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The study will be immense benefits to all organizations for the enhancement of economic growth. That is, it will help to project the necessity for management information system as a pre-requisite for attainment of organizational goals.
Through this work, the organization will come to realize their shortcomings or weak points and subsequently adopt measures aimed at enhancing their management information system.
This work will equally serve as a reference material to students of Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Computer Science and other related fields. It will also update the knowledge of managers in an organization by providing them with current standards and acceptable ways of decision-making. The work will also be useful to researchers who intend to study further on the subject.
1.5 SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The research work is for the professional required for the purpose of management information system.
Therefore, this study wishes to focus on the management information on the development of Akwa Ibom State. The major area of this research work was in Champion Breweries Ltd-Uyo. The sample population includes all members of staff in Champion Breweries Ltd-Uyo.
During the investigation, the researcher faced some difficulties and constraints which includes;
1. The scarcity of materials for the research work
2. The time given for the research work was short.
3. Poor transportation system due to the advent of tricycle and restriction of motorcycles.

1.7 RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS
Ho- There is no correlation between management information system and attainment of goals in the organization. There is correlation and attainment of goals in the organization.
Ho-Management information system is not an effective tool for the attainment of goals in the organization.
Hi-Management information system is an effective tool for the attainment of goals in the organization.
1.8 DEFINITION OF TERMS
In the course of this study, certain key concepts are met along the line which may be giving different interpretation, therefore, for the purpose of this stuffy; the following definitions are given;
1. MANAGEMENT: The people who are in charge of controlling and organizing a company or organization. Oxford Dictionary, 7th Edition.
2. INFORMATION SYSTEM: This is defined as a combination of hardware, software, infrastructure and trained personnel, organized to facilitate planning, control, coordination, and decision making in an organization.
3. ORGANIZATION: According to Njoku C. V. and Nwasua N. (2010). Organization refers to a group of people, companies or countries that has form for a particular purpose and work together to achieve its objectives.
4. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (MIS): This is a computer systems used for managing three primary components technology. People (individuals, groups or organizations) and data (information for decision making). O. Brien (1999).
5. COMPUTER: This is an electronic device that can accept input as data, store it, process it and bring out meaningful information as output. Joshua (2011).
