ORGANIZATION OF CONTENT
The book has nine (9) chapters which is divided into two section with one dealing with test, educational measurement two with classification of tests, three with the techniques of test construction defining objectives, test blues print, item writing, item analysis, factor affecting test interpretation four deals with test administration – scheduling of test, preparing the student, environment for test, preparation of test administration, continuous assessment principles of continuous assessment problems of continuous assessment.
Section eleven chapter five focus on frequency distribution and data representation ungrouped data representation, group data representing chapter six talks of measurers of central tendency Chapter seven is all about measures of variability chapter eight focuses on measures of relationship that is linear correlation while nine deals with interpretation of test scores.
Chapter one deals with test measurement, evaluation, assessment, characteristics of educational measurement scales of measurement, development of theory and each of these is presented in its various subdivision and or illustration for example under test we have measuring instrument systematic procedure, sample behavior and each of these are explained in simple understanding measurement. Is also defined and how good measurement can be achieved.
Evaluation is explained and evaluators can now pass good judgment and under evaluation we have the formative and summative evaluation. Assessments are explained and characteristics of educational measurement all this is accompanied with examples and what educational measurement content and how good test can be carry out.
Also chapter one deals with development of theory here was made on piaget’s theory of cognitive development and test help students in school. Chapter two titled type of test here it classify test and name eight types of test such as individual and group tests, objective and subjective tests power and speed test, verbal and non-verbal tests, performance and paper and pencil tests, sample and sign tests, teacher made and standardized tests and norm reference test and criterion reference test it tells the difference among these tests and give example.
